How to Obtain Access to Adobe Photoshop
You can obtain access to Adobe Photoshop in one of the following ways:
- FREE - Visit any of the computer labs on the Tahlequah, Muskogee,
or Broken Arrow campus. You should find Adobe Photoshop install
on all computers in the labs.
- Download a free trial version of the software from the
Adobe website.
If you do use the trial version, you might want to wait
and install the software when you can devote a lot of
time to this course.
Warning - Adobe may disallow this option as it has
done several times in the past.
For example, Adobe typically does not allow trial versions to be
downloaded - when they are close to releasing a new version of
their software.
- Purchase the software yourself from
Adobe.
To complete this course, you only need the "Photography" software
(i.e., Adobe Photoshop). This software currently costs
$9.99 per month (annual commitment required).
However, I would still recommend downloading the trial version,
to make sure you are purchasing the right software.
If you call the NSU bookstore (RiverHawk Shoppe) they will refer you to
the following URL:
Campus E-store.
If you are big into website design, you might want to consider
purchasing Adobe Creative Cloud. This package includes:
Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
- Try completing the assignments using the
NSU Virtual Desktop.
Transferring files you create in a virtual setup back to your own computer
(or opening files that currently reside on your own computer)
can be somewhat challenging. I have found
the easiest way to transfer files back and forth
is via email.
- Use a different image manipulation software such as the free version of
GIMP. Drawback, you will only
find instructional training videos for Adobe Photoshop.
